"A Woman On A Mission"

Fan Short Story

Once upon a time, there was a warrior like no other. This warrior stood at the end of time itself and watched as a deadly cataclysm engulfed civilisation. However, there was a darker secret she was hiding. As this deadly war machine walked through the endless wasteland, she noticed a small child, covered in ash. Upon investigating, she notices a mysterious charm in the child's hand, which is drowning in blood. The child stares deep into The Warrior's eyes, noticing the crimson iris surrounding the eyeball. "Who are you"? whispers the child. "Never mind that, what are you doing here" replied The Warrior. "This is my home.... you should know that"! shouted the child as he struggled to get away from the towering woman. The Warrior hastily moved away from the child towards the centre of this war torn planet. As she cautiously approached the centre, she noticed the ruins ahead. "Bollocks"! she muttered as she gazed towards the obliterated towers. The smoke from the structures spiralled towards the infinite amount of stars in the sky.

Suddenly, a loud crash is heard from a nearby crater, with screams of thousands of children being heard. One by one, there screams were cut short by a gun shot. This provoked The Warrior to head towards the desert to try and find the source of the terror but she was too late. This blood-soaked warrior dropped to her knees in horror as she made contact with the countless lifeless bodies lying on the ground. Each body was severely scorched by the weapon that brutally ended their short lives. Soon after this horrific discovery, the sound of engines could be heard in the distance. As The Warrior turned back towards the structure, she noticed hundreds of energy blasters being primed in the distance. Before she could react, she was swarmed by deadly energy blasts viciously hitting the ground near her. She sprinted towards the crowd of rocks near to take cover from this armada. This was no normal assault, this was a targeted one.

Sirens could be heard in the distance screaming out a warning, which would send shivers down her spine. A monotone voice was heard screeching "We have found the Time Lord"! The Warrior pulled out a mysterious grey key from her pocket and pushed it deep into her wrists, causing her body to light up like a beacon. As her eyes slowly shut, she took one last glimpse at the planet being obliterated in front of her. As her vision quickly deteriorated, she mustered up the strength to say these words. "For Gallifrey"

The Warrior awoke in a room, cloaked with a void of white. Upon stumbling towards a command console in front of her, the lights started to dim revealed ancient architecture embedded in the walls of the console room. The matte-black buttons were spread evenly throughout the console, emitting a shine, which would prompt The Warrior to interact with them. After hitting these buttons, a ferocious roar could be heard from the engines underneath console as the room shook violently. She was no longer on Gallifrey. She decide a change of clothes was required as she was putting a part of her life behind her. She reached for a hoodie, to keep herself hidden from those deadly assassins. The loud noise eventually quietened as she approached the doors at the end of this vast room.

Upon stepping out of the doors, she was in paradise. She noticed trees swaying in the light summer breeze and cars zooming past, as their engines roared in the distance. She stumbled out of the doors and smiled because for once in her life, she felt at home. As she glanced back at the blue wooden box to her right, she whispered to herself "I am The Doctor again". The wind started getting stronger as a huge amount of static electricity was building around an orchard. In a matter of seconds, a gateway was constructed to allow one of creations abominations to wander through. A Dalek.

"So, you've finally found me then"?! laughed The Doctor as she stared cautiously at the evil constructs weapon. The creature screamed "You are The Doctor"! "Not anymore"! said the badly bruised woman as she collapsed on the ground. The Doctor started losing all of her senses, her eyes were out of focused and her ears were muffled. The Dalek screamed "exterminate" as the energy blast penetrated her chest and blasted her two hearts to oblivion. The last words the woman heard was "Dalek fleet entering battle stage! Engaging all weapon defences"!. This was the end.

Until that glimmer of hope. She awoke in the same forest she supposedly met her fate in. Suddenly, her body ruptured open with a glowing light that forced her head up in the air. As she prepared to say goodbye, The Doctor said "until we meet again". As the light slowly faded, there was no woman standing there anymore. She was erased from this persons face as a new one took over. A young boy stumbled out of the regeneration process, ready to win this war.
